What is a Lighthouse?

The Mission America coalition of denominations and Christian ministries is helping mobilize the church to pray for, care for and share Jesus Christ with every man, woman, young person and child in America. Across the country, thousands of Christians are establishing their homes, churches, businesses and other private groups as Lighthouses. These Lighthouses have committed themselves to pray for, care for and lovingly and appropriately share Christ with their neighbors, friends and family who don't know Jesus Christ.

The elements of a Lighthouse are very simple:

Prayer praying, by name, for a few family members, neighbors, co-workers, schoolmates who don't know Jesus Christ. Many are prayerwalking or praying with two or three other people.

Care showing kindness, having a neighborhood barbeque, exercising together, meeting their physical needs, building relational bridges.

Share a sensitive Gospel witness, sharing the JESUS Video, a Gospel tract, inviting them to an outreach event or crusade at your church.

What is a Lighthouse Church?

The following is a short list of what it means to be a Lighthouse Church:

	Staff and ministry leaders are themselves Lighthouses.
	Has challenged its members to pray for, care for, and share Christ with unsaved persons.
	Lighthouse facilitators are appointed to lead the Lighthouse ministry.
	Links with other churches that foster community-wide Lighthouse activities.

"Larry Lighthouse" is designed especially for kids, pre-K through 5th grade. This is the kid's version of the Lighthouse Movement website. It includes a nice gospel presentation for children under the link "Don't Live In The Dark".

The Lighthouse Movement is a coalition of local and national ministries that are encouraging individuals to setup their home to be a Lighthouse of Prayer for their neighbors.
