The Blevins Family Dennis grew up in the South, learning from his parents about the truth of the Bible. He trusted Christ at a young age, and was helped to grow in the Lord in his small church in Atlanta, Georgia. He earned a General Bible Degree from Bible College in Chicago before he was inducted into the US Navy in 1968, during the Viet Nam conflict. While in the Navy, Dennis was introduced to the Navigator Ministry where he received valuable coaching and training in Disciple-making. His four years aboard ship were a great time to work out his convictions and gain training. God used this time in his life to bring many men to salvation, including the privilege of watching these men mature in Christ. After the Navy, Dennis completed his Business Administration Degree at Point Loma College in San Diego. He joined the staff of the Navigators after graduation, and spent six years ministering on the campus of San Diego State. He then moved to the University of Oregon for seven years of Navigator ministry. In 1989, when the Navigators formed a joint venture with Multnomah Bible College to begin Mission Portland, Dennis came to the Portland area to oversee this ministry--where he continues to minister. During the last 11 years, he has also served with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Promise Keepers, Logos II, and the Luis Palau Evangelistic Association. Recently, he has taken on the Executive Pastor role at Greater Portland Bible Church where he assists Senior Pastor Lynn Kent. Dennis currently lives in Gladstone, Oregon, with Mary Jane, his wife of 26 years, and his three daughters, Regina, Andrea and Rebecca.
